Jacqueline Fernandez hails from Manama in Bahrain. She was raised in a multiethnic household. Jacqueline's parents are Malaysian as well as from Sri Lanka. The father of Jacqueline is Elroy Fernandez hails from Sri Lanka. She is the younger of two siblings and has one older brother. Because of the turmoil in the country, her parents relocated to Bahrain in the late 1980s. When she finished her studies in Bahrain and after that, she received the Scholarship to study at Sydney's University of Sydney, where she pursued a master's degree in Media and Communications in Sydney, Australia. The love of languages and cultures inspired her to enroll in the Berlitz Language School, a school in which she improved on French and Arabic as she learned Spanish. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 won Miss Universe 2006 competition in March 2006 and she competed as Miss Universe 2006 also. Following her win of the Miss Sri Lanka title in 2006, she took on the world of television and anchored a show about Sri Lanka's business, called Lanka Business Report. Padukone was the daughter of the badminton star Prakash Padukone, was born in Copenhagen and was raised in Bangalore. She played badminton at the national championships while young teenagers, however she decided to give her sports career up to pursue a career as a model. Padukone is of Mangalorean roots and speaks Konkani as her native language. Padukone is a village located within the Kundapura Taluk of Karnataka's Udupi District. Prakash Padukone was a badminton legend who retired in the 80s. She has a mother who runs who worked for a travel agency also comes from the village.
